My Pearson commander sits on the hard for the winter at the Chebeague Island Boat yard and I can’t help but think of the repairs that it needs.
There is a large hole in the forward edge of the keel that has opened up from and ineffective repair from a previous owner.
The rudder shaft bushings and shoe are shot.
There are cracks in the cockpit around the rudder post that have allowed water to migrate into the cockpit floor.
I will need to work on it in the Spring when the weather warms up but at least I can plan my attack now.
